Why should I use the YogaForce A-Line Mat and what will it do for me? Good question. Now that there are so many alignment exercise mats out there that you can choose from it is good to know what makes YogaForce a stand out.
First of all, I invented the mat and got it patented over a decade ago out of necessity. I had been in a car accident and got my hip bones ripped out of alignment on my way to a yoga class on the lot at Paramount Pictures on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. I was rear ended by a drunk driver, my car was almost totaled and I was in shock, I went to class. I was asking my teacher, Marion Stork, what would be good poses for my hips. She took one look at me and sent me to Emergency!
After I saw the orthopedic surgeon, I was in bed for most of the week. Then, I went to physical therapy at Sports Club LA. My remedy was Pilates and Yoga. I was also a marathon runner and I wanted to get back to running. It was a fast recovery because I had already been practicing yoga since 1997. I ran another marathon, much to all my doctors surprise. They thought I would never be able to run again.
Once back to class all my yoga teachers (Marion, Bryan Kest, Steve Ross and Baron Babtiste) would comment that my hands were out of alignment. But that felt good to me as my hips were out of alignment. Bryan Kest was the one who suggested that I get masking tape and put it across my mat to guide my hands to put me back in the proper alignment. “Appleby come on you want to do another marathon don’t you!?” Yes, he was right I needed to and I wanted to. The YogaForce A-Line mat was born to fix me and it did!
Over time, the YogaForce A-Line Mat has helped fix thousands of people. In 2015, I watched one of the girls as I was exploring Instagram. Her name is Crystal Hohl from Arizona @CRIESTALLOTUS and she is stunning and a very good yogi. I believe she first saw the mat being used by our Texas Brand Ambassador, Courtney Parnell at @LIMITLESSYOGISOUL.
