I was just innocently browsing Instagram the other day and happened upon a doggone good picture of Mads and me by artist, Mike Brennan.
We live on opposite coasts but we both enjoy our dogs. I love his art! If you are interested in DOGA, or yoga with your dog, please come to our next public class at The Burlingame Rec Center on Saturday, May 19. This is all the info you need. You do need to register first.
DOGA By YogaForce
Annie has been teaching DOGA by YogaForce for seven years. Her classes have garnered worldwide attention from Telemundo, The Today Show, Dutch Television and National Geographic Wild’s Pet Talk. Students should wear comfortable clothes and bring a towel, a leash, a few treats, a toy and a yoga mat to class. It is recommended to have taken at least five (5) yoga classes and your dog should be updated on shots and be well socialized. You and your dog will do some yoga poses, and have some fun! This is NOT a dog training class. This is a bonding class. One dog per owner at a time. DOGA works best little dogs. However, bigger dogs can do some poses with modifications. Proceeds go to the SPCA. See www.yogaforce.com for video and more information.
Age Range: 7+
Age Range: 7-year-olds and up! One dog per family. Younger members are OK if accompanied by an adult.
See you on Saturday, May 19th! Next public class is in August. Privates available in the United States.

Yoga Art by Mike Brennan
My yoga art began as part of my daily art-making practice. I was experimenting with various themes and always come back to the human figure in some way. I decided to investigate yoga poses as an inspiration after being influenced my wife’s health and fitness journey. I was also looking for interesting poses to draw. One other key element in the continuation of my yoga art, was to include others, as connecting is a core value of mine.
I knew that I was going to create my daily art anyway, and if I was finding inspiration in other’s posts about their fitness journey, why not tag them in the art they helped inspire? It created another layer, one of being able to surprise people, and spread joy and encouragement.
My Instagram posts have also led to other opportunities to share my work. Several pieces of my yoga art were recently included in an exhibit called “The Art of Healthy Living” at the I.D.E.A. Museum in Mesa, Arizona. I also have a few pieces of my work available through Galleria Misto, in Belleair Bluffs, Florida.
Pet Portraits
My pet portrait work emerged from experimenting in my daily art making practice as well. I have two dogs of my own Biscuit, a golden mix, and Cooper a chihuahua mix, both rescues) so I understand and appreciate the special place these family member hold. I truly believe that everyone’s pet deserves to be celebrated and remembered forever. What better way than through custom pet portraits that capture your pet’s unique personality so you can treasure them for years to come.
Doga Art
Doga art combines two of my favorite themes in art, yoga and dogs. It seemed like a natural evolution given my interest, and involvement in online yoga and pet communities.
Artist Bio:
Mike Brennan shares experiences through art & design.
Some of his work includes custom “Rockstar” pet portraits, pop culture art, yoga art, live event sketching, original paintings, graphic design, and recently, he authored/illustrated the book Dear Snow: One Man’s Angry Rant Against Winter. While the media and subject matter may vary, he creates art that shares experiences centered around those themes to form connections with his audience.
Mike’s artistic journey began as a boy in New York, where he would construct heartwarming greeting cards for family and friends. He loved seeing people’s faces light up when they received his art. Even at an early age, he understood the importance of serving others through his art and bringing them value.
Mike believes that art should benefit and enrich people’s lives via subject matter or bring the beauty of a unique perspective. His philosophy is that Art is a gift, to be given and to be shared. His style is loose and organic, communicating a sense of experimentation, play, and fun. His color palette is often vibrant and saturated, influenced by works in the Pop Art and Post-Impressionist movement. He explores line, texture, and color in his work.
After a ten year absence, Mike returned to his art in what can be considered a creative comeback. He embarked upon a new creative journey of a 365 consecutive daily painting/drawing habit that continues to this day, many years later. It was through this process that Mike discovered his voice and style.
He not only seeks to use his art to bring joy and build bridges, but he also looks to be a voice encouraging those struggling in their own creativity. At the center of it all is a desire to create engaging visuals and ideas that bring value to people, and glory to his Creator.
Mike’s work has also caught the attention of several actors including Jason Lee, Jaimie Alexander, Angela Kinsey, Emily Kinney, Steven Yeun, Scott Wilson, and more. His “Fear the Walking Dead” art was also featured on AMC’s Talking Dead with host Chris Hardwick.
