YogaForce is proud to announce our first celebrity auction of 2009! Kelly Ripa of Live With Regis And Kelly has signed a YogaForce A-Line Mat to help bring awareness to skin cancer. The proceeds will go to benefit The Skin Cancer Foundation. Date of this auction is to be announced. Check back for more details.

Anne E. Appleby is the founder of YogaForce, a hip and comfortable line of unisex yoga clothing and accessories. Appleby is also a corporate lifestyle consultant. Her brand has been featured in more than 50 top television shows, major movies and celebrity closets. In 2003 she was running on the beach in Santa Monica and was stopped by a dermatologist who spotted a mole on her back just above her bikini top. He told her to see a doctor immediately and she did. It was a Clark Level 3 melanoma. If left unchecked, melanoma would have killed her.

Melanoma, the most dangerous form of skin cancer, is the most common cancer in women aged 25-29. "Seventy-five percent all skin cancer deaths are caused by melanoma," says Perry Robins, MD, President and Founder of The Skin Cancer Foundation, the only national and international non-profit organization devoted solely to the world’s most prevalent cancer. "With more than a million new cases of skin cancer diagnosed annually, the need for people to commit themselves to appropriate sun protection behavior has never been more crucial," Dr. Robins stresses.
